Roadside assistance

I have a 15 year old clunker used as "town runner". Recently, after backing onto our street, it died. I called my roadside assistance and learned that had it died on my property, I would not have qualified for the service! Did you know this?

What great luck that it died on the street. I guess they figure if it dies on your property, you don't need roadside assistance. When you think about it, it does make sense.

That makes sense. I know, in most towns, if you have an accident on private property, the police won't come and make a report. My wife once got out of her car without putting it in park, and it took off and hit our barn. Police said to call our insurance company, was nothing they could do.

I did not know that! So if it dies in your driveway, push it to the street if you want the assistance. When they say roadside assistance, I guess they mean ROADside.

Many years ago AAA sent a truck to my home to help me with a dead battery. This was quite a while ago, so they may have changed their service policy since then. Might be worth a call to find out!
