Glad you were finally successful! With the way gas prices have risen, more people are selling than buying, I think. I've had a lot of friends have good results with Craigslist.

Thanks! You are sure correct. The guy just called and he will be here at noon time. Oh yeah! I'm going to the bank right after that! I'm going to start using Craigslist more for other things that I want to sell too.

Selling a car locally

In our area, we have "The Bargain Trader." People here are trained to pick one up and go through the classifieds more so than they are to head to Craig's List. What would prevent your from trying both? That's what I plan to do when I get ready to sell my van.

Put the word out

The last time I bought a car and wanted to get rid of my old one, I just put the word out everywhere I went. Mind you I just put the word out that I was buying a new one, not that I wanted to get rid of my old one. More people ask you if you're selling your old one and are interested than if they think you need to get rid of it. A waitress in a restaurant ended up buying mine because she "overheard" me talking about my new car and that I was going to probably sell my old one.
