Sliding Doors! Bah!

I was driving my sisters van and I could not get her door open. I pulled and pulled and finally it gave. Then it fly's open and I pulled a muscle in my arm! What do you do about sticking sliding doors?

Sounds like a problem. When winter comes it could be very dangerous. You could try some WD40 but there might be a bigger issue with the pins or the seal.

I think they do need regular maintenance - both oiling the moving parts and making sure the tracks are clear. The track on the bottom of the sliding door of our van is terrible about collecting up dirt and trash, just from people walking over it.

Yeah, if you have a pin problem then the issue might be a little more complicated than you might want. Still that is not something you want winter after winter or you are going to weaken the wire that connects the door handle to the lower connector. Once that breaks you have to take the door apart to fix it.

They better have it looked into before it gets colder. If the door starts having trouble it's 50 times worse in winter when doors are freezing shut anyway. They really need to have it checked out it sounds like.

I don't know, but I've always had that same problem too and that's why I am not a big fan of vans. I once did pull a muscle in my thumb from trying to open a normal call and I missed. That hurts!
