I am going to change my spark plugs and I have done it before. Suddenly my neighbor asks me if I gaped them. Of course he is the macho type and I am trying to look cool so I said yes... Then I cam straight to my computer. Soo umm what is gaping a spark plug mean???

Heck if I know! I've never seen or heard anyone say did you gape them? I know my hubby just puts them on after he takes the old ones off. We have never had a problem before.

Gape? Do you mean gap? Gapping your spark plugs actually means setting the gap before resetting your plugs. This gap is the distance electricity arcs from the electrode on the ground to the center electrode.

Gap, yes. I see, and what happens if you don't GAP hah your spark plugs. I have been changing my own for awhile and I know I have never gaped them. I just assumed they came ready to go!
