Starters

It looks like I'm going to have to replace the starter on my car, which I'll do myself. I'll probably get a new one, but I'm thinking about getting a rebuilt one. What do you think? Should I get a new one or a rebuilt one?

Nothing wrong with getting a rebuilt starter.....just make sure you have a reputable supplier. Most rebuilt starters will have a decent warranty period and the price will be far less than a new unit.

Yep, that's been my experience, too. It's usually the brushes that are the first to go on them. A rebuilt one cost me a lot less when I needed to replace the old one, and it worked just fine.

It sounds like you know what you're talking about, my friend, in which case SABL and 911 porshe are so right....

And ya, it's often the damned brushes that go, which is often the case with power tools, too.
