Steering wheel squeaks

Does anyone else have a problem with their steering wheel squeaking? Is it something I should get checked out? I just started noticing it within the past month or so. I thought it may have something to do with the increasingly cold temperatures. As far as I can tell, the squeakiness has not affected my vehicle's performance overall.

I remember one of my other cars had the same problem. I think my husband sprayed something inside the wheel. The squeak went away. It was not anything major.

I had an issue with an older car I traded in. The person buying the car said he knew exactly how to fix the problem. It didn't keep him from giving me a fair price for the car. It's probably something like Hotrod25 experienced.
