The color?

When it comes to purchasing a new car, what do you choose the color based on? Dark colors look cool, but for safety reason, it's advisable to choose the light colored cars.

I don't have any preference for car colors, really. I haven't thought about it, but the lighter colors are better choices for safety reasons. Just a couple of days ago I was driving down the highway at dusk and a black car coming at me didn't have it's lights on. It makes for a very dangerous situation. A lighter colored car would have shown up at least a little better.

I have never thought about it. I usually am more interested in the engine (no 4-cylinder) and the features (not that I require many). Also, I usually buy used, so the color is usually just whatever it happens to be (no really awful ones, though).

I go with whatever color looks best on the vehicle that I'm interested in. I don't go by what others think, or others say - you know red cars get pulled over more often for speeding (I don't believe it).

It's less about what color I choose and more about what colors I DON'T choose. I'm not a flashy person at all, so it would never be about being noticed.

I have heard that white cars are the most visible, and the safest color to have, as well as the color most commonly found on the road. I better get with it I guess--I've never had a white car.

I am OK with most colors available. If light colors are more advisable than the dark ones for safety reasons, fine I would choose a light colored car if I needed one.

Colors are important, indeed. I always choose light-colored cars for two reasons --- they're easily seen during the evening and they reflect the heat during daytime.

No red, black, or white, unless the deal is too good to walk away from. I think that goes back to the times when my Dad had to pay extra for a color OTHER than one of those three when buying a car off the lot.

Well Notchback, though I have no issue with any color available, I don't think I will choose white either. The color is just too light, and you will have to wash and detail it often to keep the car look clean.

Oddly enough, I agree with 66 Notchback: those 3 colors are the hardest to keep looking nice, in my opinion, and if you've ever tried to wax a black vehicle, you know where the song "Black cars look better in the shade" originated! Hahaha!

Red is a 'heat score' and very hard to match when it comes to body work; white is so hard to keep clean.

I'll take a silver or grey-ish hue any day; that is, IF I have any say in the matter (I've owned cars of all of those colors, it was a matter of finance and not color preference).
