Things bad for airbag system

I read once that adding or modifying certain equipment on your vehicle can negatively impact performance of the airbag system. What kinds of modifications would these be?

I believe that any modification can hurt the performance. If you are going to play with that part of the vehicle, make sure you know exactly what you are doing. If something does go wrong, and you have an accident, it might also affect your insurance coverage.

There are sensors located in various places in the vehicle. In mine, sensors in the passenger seat can be affected by something as simple as a seat cover, for instance.
