Have you ever had a ticket? I know a few people who have got them for speeding, which they will admit they deserved. As for me, never had one for anything and hope to keep it that way.

Mine have always been for speeding. Funny thing is, it's never for going fast on the highway. It's always for going, like 40 in a residential, or 30 in a school zone. It's just hard for me to go slow!

(I told the one cop, "It's not a shortcut if you take it slow". He laughed but gave me the ticket anyway.)

2 or 3 in my lifetime. One because he said I did not come to a complete and full stop and wait 5 seconds before going again on a right hand turn. I had one for speeding. I think that was it, but may have had another for speeding. Not sure.

Mine was for talking on my cell phone while driving. It's too old a model to work with a hands-free device. (Nokia Tracfone) The fine was $15. Court fees were $85. Talk about a racket.

 

[Car Hop]

I got one in Nevada, out in the middle of nowhere. They set folks up for that one. It's a famous stretch. Yes, I was speeding. Was anyone really at risk? Nope, especially since I was the only on the road beside the hiding cop.
