Water Damaged Engine

I'm considering purchasing a water damaged car. The body is completely fine but the engine doesn't run. Someone told me it could just be flooded valves and I'd just need to replace them and it should be ok.

It's about half the market price... Should I take the risk?

I don't know as much about the details of this kind of thing and the different problems that can arise, but I know that I got water in my engine during a hurricane once, and was able to get it up and running relatively quickly again with the help of a mechanic friend. I'd say do a little more research and probably go ahead and take the chance!

Is it possible to bring a mechanic to check the damage of the car before purchasing it? Anyway, if I were you, I would take the risk. The body is fine and for a car, I think the body is worth more than the machine.

Don't do it. Unless you're a qualified mechanic, familiar with this type of engine, you'll end up either wrecking or paying a garage way too much. Think about the epair costs.
