When did you started driving?

I would like to know how old you were when you got your first driving lesson. I remember that I was very upset at my dad because he started teaching my brother who was 15 before me who was 18. I thought it was very sexist of him. I finally ended up paying for my own driving lessons when I was 19.

I was always daddy's little girl and when I begged him to teach me how to drive. He started taking me to an empty parking lot on Sundays when I was 14. By the time I was 16, I was a pretty good driver and was able to get my license on the first try. My mom was happy because I helped her by doing errands and taking my brothers to their after school activities.

I was living on the family farm.... and I was 10.

All of us kids learned how to drive on the farm, and that includes winter time: I remember my Dad putting his truck into low gear, and plunking me behind the wheel.... and having to walk back to the farmhouse to ask my Granddad to pull the truck out of the ditch with the tractor.....hahahaha

I drove around our property when I was 13. My dad started actually preparing me for he road when I was 15. I already knew how to do everything by then, so it was just a matter of making it legal.

I started when I got my permit at 16. The state in which I lived at the time didn't allow early permits. Where I live now, they do, so my son got his at 15.

My dad introduced me to driving when I was 10 or so. At 15 I had become a pretty good driver though he wouldn't let me drive on the road till I was legally eligible for driving car.

Legally I started when I was 15 with the permit, but I was in a family that always thought it best to teach a little early. I would guess about 13 or so. We were always on our own private propriety and safety precautions were taken, two adults in the vehicle, seat belts always and slow and steady (like the hare and the tortoise story).

My grandfather took me to breakfast on my 16th birthday and then on the way back pulled into an empty parking lot and announced he was teaching me to drive starting that day because I was now "a young adult".
