    Recall on Hyundai

There was a recall just released yesterday about Hyundai Elantra sedans (years 2007, 2008, 2009) for defective airbags. This is a very serious recall, check it out at: http://www.fox5sandiego.com/news/sns-rt-hyundairecalls-upn18218483-20110318,0,3918245.story

    Recall on Ford Pickups

A new recall has just been sent out on Ford pickup tires. 65,000 trucks are being recalled for tires that wear down and can lead to detachments. http://www.fox5sandiego.com/news/sns-rt-continentalford-un18241693-20110318,0,1816493.story

    The Nissan Cube

Has anyone had any experience with this car? I just love how it looks because it is the only average priced car on the road that actually looks significantly different than all the rest with its shape and windows. I'm so tired of how car makers have been producing "cookie-cutter" cars for the...

Buying a new (to me) car

Well, if that is what it suggests in the kelly blue book then, I think you are out of luck. Even if you tried to sell it on Craigslist or to a dealership, people will look up the price of it in the KBB before buying. I think you just have to sell it for what you can, get a loan or save up, and...

    Ugh! Car lot harassment

Eww! That is horrible!! I can't believe there are disgusting people like that out there. That type of thing makes me want to carry around bear mase to teach them a lesson.

    Chains

Thankfully I don't live where it snows, so I don't have to worry about carrying chains around unless I drive up to the mountains. However, because we are not used to using these things, my husband had a really hard time putting them on and then an even harder time taking them off because somehow...

    Green car wash

Wow really?! I think that is great! Well, where is the water recycled from? If it is toilet water, then I would never go there, but if it is just sink water or something then I think that is great and I would go there for a car wash if I could. Would if be cheaper too? It should be. I agree...

    Who is at fault?

I would say it is the work's fault. The only way it wouldn't be their fault is if they have you go get the insurance card yourself from the location they keep it in whenever you drive the company car. If they do not make you do that, then it is their fault for not having the info available in...

    The streets in your town.

I guess it would depend in what part of town I was in. Typically I don't drive in bad parts of town. Although I would be more worried about someone hitting me as I was changing the tire because we have a lot of bad stupid drivers. Since I am a woman, I would not change a tire at night without a...

    Gas prices again?

Yea it has been climbing the ladder here too in San Diego and has reached $5 in certain parts of town. That happened before the Japan earthquake and there was no reason for it because we don't get our oil (in San Diego) from the places at war in the middle east (they were blaming the rising...

    Stolen car!

My husband and I both have good gas milage on our cars, but his car is a little better than mine. He drives farther than me, so he uses the car with the better gas milage. Plus, my car is safer so my dad (who bought me the car in college) wants me to drive the car he gave me.

How many cars are in your driveway/yard?

Well I personally don't have a driveway, but at my parents' house they have four people (over the age of 21) living there and they have five cars. One car is parked on a makeshift driveway that my dad made on the lawn, hahaha. Two of the cars don't even run, but one is an '84 Toyota truck that...

    Wow, Canadian driving law?

I think we NEED to have those exact same laws here. Kids shouldn't be working late anyways because they have high school to attend. I think if we had these laws here, there would be so many less car accidents and deaths. Being able to drive at 16 is far too young maturity wise. I remember all...

    Potholes from Hell

I hear you on the potholes. We have so many potholes in my city, they are literally one after another in the road and they can easily pop a tire. They have fixed some of the potholes, but even some that they fixed became a hole again after the last storm. I don't think our city has enough money...

    Blown head gasket!!

Ouch! Yea I would say it is time to give up on the car. A blown gasket usually costs a lot more to fix than the car is worth. That is a bummer. :ohwell:

    GPS Upgrades

I would constantly upgrade the maps if I were you. I live in San Diego and things are always changing around here (almost on a monthly basis) because there is so much more building going on. There are tons of new streets which means new and faster ways to get from point A to point B in my town.

    Trailer effect

Yes it does affect the gas milage. That is why when you mail something it is based off of weight. The more something weighs, the more they charge for it because it uses up more gas for the transportation of mail.

    Headlights

I agree too! Those headlights are just blinding! Sure they look slick, but it isn't good for other drivers to have those headlights causing a vision problem. Not to mention it is super distracting to have those lights behind you for a period of time.

    Avoiding short trips

That is a good idea. I'm going to do that too. Gas is just way too high these days. It will also affect the things I decide to do and the jobs I look into in my hometown. If it causes me to drive too far, I simply won't do those certain activities anymore.

    Battery life

That is awesome! I need to get one of those batteries! I would say keep on driving with it (unless you notice that the car is starting to act a little funny) until it dies and then let us know how long it lasted. What brand of battery was that?
