    Midlife crisis car (or truck)

O man, I totally blew it... I didn't mention the Ford GT40.... and I'd own one of them in a heartbeat. I saw one the other day, totally restored to factory, and I admit that my jaw dropped: that is one damned sexy machine.

    Crappy Systems

It never fails, such vehicles tend to be operated by less-than-attentive drivers.... I wonder if the vibration is as distracting as the noise? I like to have tunes in the background when I'm on the highway, but man o man, when I can't hear it because the car beside me has the stereo CRANKED...

    Flip flops while driving?

Where I am, it's ILLEGAL to drive barefoot.... yet I find it dangerous to drive in flip-flops, and those ARE legal: I'd think barefoot would be safer? Then again... I won't drive in heels anymore, I'll change my shoes to drive.

What are some main causes of A/C failing?

The seals in the compressor 'went', or it's out of refridgerant. It's happened to a few vehicles I've owned now, and I quickly discovered that it's EXPENSIVE if you deal with a dealership to address the matter. I went out to a trucking place that overhauls big rigs, and had a new compressor...

    Midlife crisis car (or truck)

My dream car is a land-yacht: a 69 Cougar RX7 rag top BOSS (WINDSOR), from the first manufacturing 1/4: there was a factory flaw in the leather steering wheel. It'd have to have posi and a shift-kit....

    The downside of wearing glasses

You can have the airbags in any vehicle deactivated by a mechanic, it's not hard to do and shouldn't cost a lot. Why manufacturers don't share that tidbit: because it's a liability issue that could land 'em in court. You actually DO have a choice where airbags are concerned, but that...

    The downside of wearing glasses

Ohhh, can of worms there..... Glasses today are rarely made from glass: it's too heavy compared to modern materials, and can't be done as 'precise'. An airbag to the face is like a punch to the head, and while that causes injury, it's nothing like hitting the steering wheel with your face, nor...

Cleaning the Inside of the Windshield

A towel, a face cloth, a coffee filter, and Windex. The towel is for the dash, I spray down the entire thing (after removing the mirror), use the facecloth to 'scrub' and clean, half-dry with.... I 'buff' it with a coffee filter.... no lint that way. :D

    Armoral

Those products will often serve to act like a magnet for dust and dirt, negating your efforts in a short time. Tires never look good for long it seems, but in my experience using products like Amoral is a waste of my money.

    Condensation?

The one school bus I drive has an issue with condensation: between the panels of glass on the passenger doors. Um, factory ordered in 2008, it's an 09 model: it's been a warranty nightmare for the Bosses. That spot of condensation is annoying me majorly, and I do not want to pop out the...

    Dash cleaner

I just use a generic household cleaner on my dashboard, and make sure to wipe it down with a clean rag a few times afterwards. Glare is not something I will tolerate when I'm driving. I drive for a living now, and I am VERY set in my ways. Hehehe.

    Favorite Drink?

@ craig : switch to Splenda, and not sugar.... it doesn't mess with your body like real sugar can, el-zippo for calories.... You can also used things like orange or lemon rind to flavor teas with : I need to use far less sweetener if I do that.

    Wiper fluid

I'm sure my neighbors thought I was nuts , using the blunt side of a butter knife and a metal spatula to clean my windshield. I'll shot any one of them that has pictures, however. :Peace!:

    Wiper fluid

Does the bug-busting stuff work as well as the advertisers claim? I haven't had to really worry about that up until this past week, it's been really wet up in this corner of the country. A hot day, though, and bug splatters from a drive down the highway were glued in place that I had to...

    Favorite Drink?

Decaf herbal teas, amazingly enough: I actually grow a lot of my own tea fixings now, and there's something to be said about a mug of scalding water and a trip to the garden to get some Earl Grey flavoring (without the caffeine!) via a bee balm leaf in the mug.

    Spot bots

They're DA BOMB if you've got pets, and I love mine for the heavy traffic areas on the one set of carpeted stairs in the house, too. Anywhere a 'big' unit can't work, one of those guys can: the jet head is all of 3.5" in size. This link is Canadian, I'm sorry, but at least it includes a pic...

    Car shows?

They bore me to tears, I'm afraid: having worked them as a rep, I lost all interest in them as a 'social' thing. That I don't care for crowds, rude people, and being jostled about doesn't help matters, but it may explain why I haven't been to concert since 1993.

    vents and ducts

Has anyone found anything other than a toothbrush, a pipecleaner, or a Q-tip, to clean the dust from INSIDE of the air vents in a vehicle? It drives me nuts, I detail the inside of the car, and what stands out? the dust just INSIDE of the vents, almost taunting me.... :mmph: That's...

    Spot bots

It's a mini=carpet cleaner, complete with water injectors and suction into a "puke" or "dirty" tank. Bissell makes one called a Little Green, I believe? and so does Dirt Devil.

Wow... as if it wasn't bad enough...

I hope that the paramedics and the patient they were transporting sue the **** off the guilty driver, and that he loses his licence for life: some folks just do NOT get the message that drinking and driving do NOT mix.
