There isn't really much you can do. Can you park in the shade? That might help a little. What color is your car? That usually makes a difference, also, though you may not be able to change it now.
Are you interested in the contenders for Car (or Truck) of the Year? They include the new electric vehicles from Nissan and Chevrolet, as well as an Audi, a Buick, another Chevrolet, and a Ford.
Parking lots can be dangerous places, for sure! I am ashamed to admit that one of my first-ever wrecks was when I backed into a (parked) car in a parking lot. :mmph:
Performance-wise, they're probably pretty comparable. But FUN-wise is another story. When comparing awesomeness, I would have to vote for the manual transmission every time!
Most of the time, the gas tank is on the driver's side of the vehicle (I think, though I'm not sure) that it ALWAYS is on newer vehicles. Therefore, direction of travel alternates on most of the gas stations in our area.
I learned to drive a stick during my first year of driving. I got irritated with it and said I didn't like it - but when I bought my first car, it was a stick! I miss it sometimes.
Newer cars are being made so it is more difficult (if not impossible) to work on by the owner. Older cars were so much more accessible and much easier for owners to repair. I usually take mine to someone, even though I *could* do it myself.
We were coming around a corner one day when my spouse was driving and I thought it was a dog running from a house toward the road. When it got to the road, I realized it was a deer. It was only about 20 feet in front of us.
I'm not sure that I will ever want to buy a Kia now that Kia is going to be using a Microsoft OS in their cars. I hope that doesn't cause the car to have to be shut down and restarted regularly!
I think people do actually win the vehicles, yes. They are then responsible for paying for title, tag, and taxes. I've heard of people who sold the car as soon as they could because they couldn't afford to keep it!
I can relate to that, too. My vehicle is used for nearly everything, and either I or my son will usually drive it. When my spouse drives (usually on Sundays), I always hear "There's no gas in the van!"
Is your car on the recall list? It isn't just Toyotas, either. There are General Motors, Chrysler, and Honda vehicles on the list as well. It might be a good idea to check!
I love the rich, dark green, but I haven't owned one. Mostly I have white cars because they seem to be the least expensive. I haven't yet purchased a vehicle brand new.
I have a couple I know well, but I still wouldn't be very comfortable driving them without visibility. On the other hand, I had a buddy when I was a teen who drove a group of us on a back road - a curvy one - in a blizzard when visibility was maybe 2 feet in front of the windshield (so, like...
How often do you give your car a tune up? Regardless how often you DO, how often do you think it *needs* to be done? What do you include when you do a tune up?
I've only been in minor "fender bender" type accidents, thankfully! We did witness a pretty bad accident this week, though - it was right in front of us! We were the ones to call 911 and my son filled out a report of what he saw.
Yikes! I don't know what people are thinking! Most golf carts are not considered street legal, so they should not be driving on the street at all. I think if you called the police, they would definitely let them know that they should not be in the road.
To me, that is a silly statement. Our parents are not unqualified to teach us! They teach us most of what we know, starting from birth! What makes a person "qualified" in your opinion? A piece of paper? Knowledge and experience should be enough to "qualify" a person to teach his or her child...
If you are creative, then maybe this contest is just up your alley! Mercedes-Benz is looking for creative car concepts. This is an annual event, so if you aren't able to enter this year, keep it in mind for next year!
