Don't wrap your thumb? I haven't heard that. Why not? I do drive with two hands most of the time (but not always). And most of the time, my thumbs are wrapped around.
That's a neat idea. I was thinking you were talking about putting one together. It seems to me that if one DID build one's own car, repairing it would be a breeze!
I'm in the south, but one of our vehicles does not have a/c. When we replaced the engine a while back, the replacement engine was just a little different and the a/c system no longer fit properly. I am thankful the windows roll down!
They have a speed limit for a reason. Going over is breaking the law. While they *usually* don't give tickets until you get to a certain amount over, they *can* give a ticket for as little as one mph too fast, if they choose.
When I'm not paying attention to my speedometer, I usually catch...
Yeah, I would recommend having the auto parts store recheck it. They do it free, right? One of them told me once that when your car hits so many thousand miles, the light will stay on until a mechanic resets it inside the engine.
I haven't had a ticket in a very, very long time, but I think the most annoying one was the one I got backing out of my own driveway. I backed into the neighbor's truck.
That's why the police have phone numbers, you know. Most people who are inconsiderate that way tend to leave it up for a while. If you call, they will come check it out.
Sorry you weren't happy with the installation. We didn't worry about "installing" ours; we just stuck it to the vent with the included holder. Worked for us!
Silverfox, sometimes it depends on what vehicle it is. I think it was the Suburban that I heard if you let it get below 1/4 tank, it will mess up some high-dollar parts internally.
Wow, did you hear about this? The Cash Cab in Canada was being driven back to the garage and the driver hit a guy, who died in the hospital! They haven't given other details, that I saw, yet.
That would probably be an issue with any heavy vehicles, even without the wheelchair part, right? I have a 15-passenger van, and it would probably be the same way.
My car is a machine. I don't get "close" to machinery. As far as that "oneness" some people have with their cars - I just don't. When I was a teen, I had a cop pull me over to tell me I had a flat tire. I had no idea. Pretty pathetic!
Yep, even in a small town, when there are special things going on and parking is at a premium, some of the people who live there will request payment to use their driveway, and they often get it. It would be nice, wouldn't it!
Thank you all. Our friend (whose cousin it was) has been taking it really hard. He and his girlfriend had just visited with the cousin less than a week before. Terrible thing.
Last Friday, we had friends coming over from about an hour away. About 3/4 of the way here, they were stopped by a wreck. We found out this week that one of the two killed in the wreck was cousin to another friend of ours. The worst part is that it was his fault. He was racing and slipped across...
