    Melting dashboard?

That definitely sounds wrong! I recommend that you call the dealer and explain what's happening and see what they will do for you. It seems like that should be something they will take care of for you.

    The downside of wearing glasses

Safety should be up to the person, IMO. Legislating "safety" to the consumer is something like legislating morality. For every person "saved" by a seatbelt, someone can name someone who was saved by NOT having one on. If people want to be stupid, that should be their own decision. *I* would...

    Gas, what are you paying?

My car uses the E85 and I paid about 3.399, but the normal gas is running around 3.799 in this area. I would LOVE to see it back down near the $2 level, but I really doubt it will ever get back there.

    The downside of wearing glasses

I don't know if you've ever thought about it, but airbags. Here you are, something happens, and the airbag deploys at 200mph, directly into your face. What happens when you're wearing glasses? It seems to me that they would shatter and end up in your eyes, wouldn't they? It isn't...

    Surviving a tornado - in a truck

I'm sure you have heard by now about the tornadoes in Joplin, MO. One man was in his truck during the storm, and he has told his story [VIDEO]. I'm thinking that would not have been my first choice of a way to ride out a storm (no pun intended), but I'm glad he came through it ok!

    Car lowered by crane

A car from the 1960s was lowered by a crane at the Palm Springs Art Museum as promotion for a new exhibit. It would have been fun to be there to watch them get that into place, wouldn't it?

    Who rides back?

I think it's largely a control thing, but also a perception thing. It's always been the accepted way to ride to have the man driving and the woman as passenger, and it will probably stay that way.

    Condensation?

The only that comes to mind offhand would be to make some sort of small hole either in a corner of the glass or in the seal around it, to allow the moisture to escape instead of being stuck there. Is that possible?

    Driving in the rain?

It's a lot easier to drive in the rain if you treat your windshield with Rain-X. That stuff really works. There have been times I've been in heavy rain and other people have to slow down because they can't see between wiper swishes, but I have no problem seeing due to the Rain-X.

Do you have a DVD player?

I have three vehicles. None of them contains a CD or DVD player. One has AM radio only, one has AM/FM radio, and one has AM/FM radio and cassette player.

    Car shows?

I haven't. I've seen displays of cars at other functions I've attended, but I haven't gone to car shows specifically. One place I went once had a display of VW Bugs through the years. That was very neat!

    A cheaper alternative?

I've thought about getting one of those scooters (the street-legal kind), and pulling a trailer behind it so I can do pretty much anything I need to. Haven't yet, but still thinking about it.

The most you would spend on a new car

I think I wouldn't go over $50,000 for a car, at most. Most vehicles going for more than that are only expensive because of luxuries that I can easily do without.

    China company rescues SAAB

China's largest car distributor has made a deal with SAAB, worth up to 110 million euros, which will keep the company open. SAAB was having trouble paying bills, and without this deal, they probably would have had to close their doors.

    Another stolen car!

That's scary, yeah. Does your neighborhood have a "neighborhood watch" system set up? If not, maybe it's time to start one. I hope your car escapes the notice of the thieves!

    Spot bots

Sounds interesting! I haven't heard of those, but it would be nice to have something little to do the carpets in the car. Do they deep-clean or just vacuum?

    Aggressive driving?

Yes, I am a defensive driver. It doesn't hurt me any to back off and let someone else in front of me, or pause at an intersection for a couple seconds longer to let someone else go first. I think it is silly for someone to endanger themselves and others to go around a car, only to have to stop...

    36 years search ended

Janice Maffucci's car was stolen in 1975. Now, it has been recovered on the opposite coast of the USA! It was a classic sports car, and the purchaser noticed it didn't properly match the information for the vehicle. Pretty cool!

    Car Thieves - new methods

The thing about these thieves (referenced in the original article) is that they don't go very far. They often never even *start* the vehicle. It seems that the 'bait car' idea would be moot for these guys, to some degree.

    The mini car camera ?

What is the purpose of this "mini car camera"? Is it a miniature camera for inside a vehicle, or is it a camera for a car such as the Mini Cooper? This is the first I've heard of it.
