    Potholes from Hell

Six months would be assuming it was on a main road, too. I know some of the back roads where I grew up had perpetual potholes because they weren't "important" enough roads.

    Wow, Canadian driving law?

I think that anyone who considers it a hardship to have NO TOLERANCE on drinking or drugs while driving, probably shouldn't be driving themselves.

How many cars are in your driveway/yard?

We currently have three. Two are general purpose, smaller vehicles (well, small in comparison, anyway - they're minivans) and the other is a 15-passenger van. What do you have?

    Gas station doesn't sell WHAT?

That's crazy! You'd think at LEAST they would carry the necessary fluids that are fairly universal (like oil, brake fluid, and transmission fluid), even if nothing else!

    Auto Club of So. Cal.

The Auto Club of Southern California is testing some electric cars for their fleet. They have twenty "Smart fortwo" cars that they're trying out. They're small, that's for sure!

    British insurance agency's answer -

Young drivers can get lower insurance premiums if their car includes an in-car spy system. I wouldn't be surprised to see something similar in the USA in the coming months.

    Blue Book Pricing

I recommend taking a few moments to look up several similar sites (I can't remember the other one off the top of my head, but I know KBB was only one of two or three very well known ones).

    Gas prices again?

I'm certain that the US government will jack up the prices just because of that. There were some higher ups that want the price to get to $5 by summer - this might just be their excuse for getting it there. :ohwell:

Is there a product that lasts longer?

Honestly, I don't see how a product *could* last longer. The dirt and dust are going to get on the tires, and until they come up with a true dirt-repellent, you're going to have to keep washing them off.

    Trailer effect

Well, that makes sense, Crissy. I hadn't thought of it that way. Carl - good idea, but not sure I'll get around to actually executing it! LOL! I don't really use the trailer that much.

IRSC is hosting the 8th annual River Classic Car Show on March 13. If you live in the area, you should stop by! There will be cars and trucks and all kinds of stuff!

    Do You Still Enjoy Driving

I like driving, but I don't do a lot of it these days! I have two teenagers with the ability to drive (one has a license and one has a permit), so there it is!

Must Be 18 Years Old for Driver's License?

I think it's a good idea. Alabama does something similar, in that a new driver has to be 18 or have a lot of experience before "graduating" to an "official" license.

    Trailer effect

How much do you think pulling a utility trailer affects gas mileage? The trailer is smaller than the van with which I'm pulling it, if that matters.

    Car fire

Wow, Buyer! That would be quite an experience! I'm glad your house wasn't damaged. I guess the fire departments are pretty good at containing fires. :)

    Calming Teen Driving

Honestly, I think the main thing is their upbringing. If a kid is raised to be responsible, then driving is less likely to be an issue. Today, kids are being taught that they need to "be kids" and it's ok to "go wild" before they become adults. Too many parents are raising *children* instead of...

    Tread Pattern

Yes, some tread patterns are created with water under the tire in mind. They are patterned in such a way as to allow water to escape. Here's a page that discusses this: http://auto.howstuffworks.com/tire3.htm

    Waterless Detailing

That makes sense, Guy. I think I'd prefer sticking with water (for the outside; Windex or something for inside), personally, but in cases of water shortage, it's nice to know there are other options.

    Traffic Jams and Science

I found an article about the science behind traffic jams. Pretty interesting stuff, there! I never really thought about it having scientific applications before.
