Did you see article about the fire at a car dealership? Apparently a car inside caught fire and the whole building went up! Pretty scary for the guy on the roof, I'll bet!
I do most of my driving within 10-15 minutes of home. It's weird, though, because it seems like I still go through a horrible amount of gas, even still!
If you have children in car seats, it might be a good idea to go to this site (nhtsa.gov) and find a place near you where you can have them checked for proper installation and fit. It certainly can't hurt, and just might help!
I think they really don't make much difference. I think they tend to be viewed similarly to a bumper sticker - as just a note about the owner of the vehicle.
I'm with Guy! I think the original VW bus was a classic, and if VW wants to revive the bus, they should stick with the classic look. I think people would really like it, just like they did back then! I know I would!
Definitely, for a car! I've heard of people who go into regular stores and haggle. I can't imagine doing that, myself, but it sometimes nets them some really good deals!
I'm not a smoker (couldn't; I'm allergic), but I know what you mean. At the same time, though, we don't want them to legislate morality. The government doesn't need to be involved; it's not their place. It would be nice if people used a bit of common sense, though!
It is going to depend on the person. My son has a bike (though it is currently not working) that he rode as long as it was over 40 (under that, and his bike wouldn't start reliably).
I think it would be fine :) Carl, it wouldn't be illegal as long as she has a permit or learner's license. If she doesn't, she would definitely need to start there. I hope you find her to be a quick learner!
Here's a site: http://www.web-cars.com/detail/clay.php
The clay is similar to play-doh, and is used to get the dirt and stuff out of the little dips and pits in the paint job that aren't even really visible to the eye.
An interesting note: in Texas, at least, the tickets are not enforceable. If someone chooses not to pay it, there is no recourse. So really, the red light cameras are there as a deterrent, but if they don't deter, they are moot and useless.
Well, in our case, we don't have a lot of choice. Our family includes 8 people (two of which are in child safety seats) so we have to have something big - or else spend twice as much to go anywhere due to taking two vehicles - so we just do what we can and try to conserve.
We're self-employed, and we have found that our business vehicle is one of our best deductions. Mileage does pretty well these days. Have you found that to be true for your business?
The Irish Examiner has an article discussing what manufacturers are doing about rising fuel prices. More manufacturers are working on technology to make the vehicles more fuel efficient, and that can't be anything but good!
In case you didn't see it, here's a link: http://www.foxnews.com/world/2011/02/28/car-runs-bicycling-demonstrators-brazil/ ... I agree, it was a really terrible thing the guy did. He claimed he was frightened for his life, but that doesn't ring true to me. I think I read that nobody was killed...
I think it is ok for people who have been convicted of DUI/DWI - but I think it is a bad idea for *all* vehicles. I am personally against any addition that might disable the vehicle due to the high possibility of malfunction.
Texting while driving is illegal in most states now, I believe. It doesn't seem to be being enforced. They've done enough studies to show that it impairs reactions that people should know enough to be responsible, but it seems that too many people think, "Oh, *I* can handle it!"
Yes, very much so! Because of this, I have put those button mirrors (the convex ones) on both of my side-view mirrors to help the blind spot to be much smaller.
I'm guessing they aren't doing as well as they had hoped, and that is why we aren't hearing about it. Seems to me, if sales were up, the companies would be letting us know!
