    Vacuuming the car @ home?

We have a shop-vac. Since we have very little carpet in our house, it mostly gets used for blowing air, or for vacuuming the minor things (like the car) that need to be vacuumed.

    My poor friend

Wow, that could have been a problem if it were other fluids - like oil in the transmission, or transmission fluid in the radiator, or any number of other combinations. Glad it was something that wasn't a huge problem!

    Car Thieves - new methods

NBC is running a story about car thieves and their current methods. It seems thieves will now take a car only a short distance from its original location and strip it, taking just a few things, and then leave the remainder there.

Where do you draw the line with drinking and driving?

The law gives a legal limit, but I think unless you have a way to test your blood level (which, I think, cannot be done accurately through *breath*), I think you should let someone else drive if you are going to drink.

Is your child in a booster?

More and more children are in boosters now, thanks to new laws. My personal opinion is that manufacturers should have to make the car seats safe for all riders, with the possible exception of infants. If it were anything else, it would be up to the manufacturer rather than the consumer, so why...

    India car sales slow increase

Yahoo! News says that India's car sales growth, while still increasing, is increasing at a much slower rate than in previous years. I'm guessing that the economy is bad everywhere and that is just to be expected, don't you think?

    Forgot to Renew my Registration!

Wow, glad they didn't ticket you! Our state has it set up that each month, a certain group of plates expire, based on the owner's last name. We need to take care of ours this month.

Do I need to check my oil if I'm getting regular services?

That depends. How often is your regular service? Is the oil always checked then? Do you ever hear knocking from the engine? Do you ever see oil under the car?

    Gas prices in Canada

I know; it's crazy. Our government in the USA is talking about getting OUR prices up to $5 - and I wouldn't be surprised if they succeed, although it will be annoying.

    Sport cars?

Couldn't if I COULD afford it - so far they don't make a sports car that fits a large family, and we have to seat more than four. Plus, I don't know if they're worth what they cost.

    Summer Time Coolant

I usually just use water in the summer, since antifreeze isn't really required. It's cheaper because I can just fill it from the garden hose.

    Delray Beach - charging stations

According to the Palm Beach Post, Delray Beach is soon offering FREE electric car recharging stations. I have to admit to being surprised that they aren't charging (no pun intended!) for the privilege of recharging.

    Do you really like driving?

I enjoy driving (though I do little these days, with two teenage drivers), but I think I would equally enjoy other forms of transportation. The one time I got to try out the subway in NYC, I really enjoyed that, too.

    Spares or Repair

I haven't, but it seems to me your best bet would be to sell it for scrap. Alternately, you could haul it to the dump and just go from there.

What to do in a fender bender...

If the damage isn't really bad, and neither of us care to have it fixed or tell our insurance, is it ok to just not call anyone, shake hands, and part friends (as it were)? Or is it the law that the police are called even for minor bumps?

    Window motor going bad?

We have two windows that had this problem, on the Dodge Grand Caravan. We had the driver's side one replaced by someone else. The passenger side still isn't fixed. You probably *could* replace it yourself, but we found it easier to have a pro do it.

    Loft atop

I think a loft would be a great idea; but I'd really prefer a second floor with an apartment, if I had my druthers. Of course, it's all moot for me at the moment, as I don't even have a garage.

    Diesel fuel

I didn't know, either, so I looked it up. According to FactCheck.org: You can read more about this situation and the reasons for it at their site: http://www.factcheck.org/askfactcheck/why_does_diesel_fuel_cost_more_than.html I know for a long time, diesel was cheaper, and that was probably...

    Pets in cars?

I recommend crating in the car, too. But if you would rather not, it seems like a lint brush (or a roll of duct tape, used a piece at a time to stick to the hair and pull it off) would go a long way toward cleaning it up.

    Radars, legal or not?

Nine? I've heard five over is the upper limit, due to discrepancies in speedometers. Still, it's best to stay at the speed limit or barely under if you want to be honest because, really, even one mile over is breaking the law, technically.
